• 1. Invention: The patent has a term of 20 years from the date of filing.

          Request for substantive examination within 3 years after the date of filing

• 2. Utility Model: The patent has a term of 10 years from the date of filing.

             Formality examination is required since July 1^st, 2004

• 3. Design : The patent has a term of 12 years from the date of registration

Immediate substantive examination

• 4. Trademark : The trademark registration is effective for a term of 10 years from the date of  registration and shall be renewed for further 10-year periods.

• 1. Once the patent is granted, annual fee must be paid year by year to prevent cancellation of the patent.
• 2. The system of filing an opposition before the issue of certificate had been cancelled since July 1^st, 2004.
• 3. The system of filing an opposition after the issue of certificate had been executed since November 28^th, 203.
