- 1. The Madrid Union currently has 98 members, covering 114 countries.
- 2. The applicant shall select the countries where you wish to protect the mark in the international application.
- 3. The trademark registration is effective for a term of 10 years from the date of registration and may be renewed for further 10-year periods. (Every 10 years)
- 4. Once WIPO approves the international application, the IP offices of the territories where the applicant wants to protect the mark could make a refusal decision (if the mark has been registered or filed already in the national IP office)
- 5. Taiwan enterprise and citizen are allowed to file an application, but should file an application before China IP Office being a basic application.
